About Us
Who we are, how we work and why we write about wildlife.
Our mission
TheWildeKacino is an independent online journal dedicated to wildlife and the natural world. We publish species profiles, habitat guides, wildlife watching advice and conservation stories for curious readers, families, students and travellers.
We believe that people protect what they understand. By explaining how animals live, why they matter and what threatens them, we hope to help more readers care about wildlife and act on that care.
How we research and write
Our articles are written and reviewed by the TheWildeKacino Editorial Team. We base our content on published scientific research, assessments from recognized bodies such as the IUCN Red List, and guidance from national park services and established conservation organizations. Where figures change over time, such as population estimates, we say so and update the article when better data becomes available.
Each article shows the date it was last reviewed. We do not accept payment to change editorial conclusions, and any commercial relationships are explained on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
Corrections
We work hard to get things right, but mistakes can happen. If you spot an error, please let us know through our contact page and we will review it promptly. Confirmed corrections are made directly in the article.
